Handbook
The project focused on creating the 2024-25 Student Handbook was an extensive and meticulous process aimed at enhancing visual communication. The goal was to ensure the document was accessible, engaging, and informative for the diverse student body at Griffith College. Emphasis was placed on identifying areas for improvement in typography, imagery, structure, and layout, to make the handbook not only informative but also visually appealing and easy to navigate.
A crucial element of the redesign was the implementation of a grid system. This approach provided a structured framework that ensured consistency and balance throughout the document. The grid system allowed for a clear organization of content, making it easier for readers to follow and find information.
A consistent typography scheme was established. Clean, serif fonts were chosen for body text to enhance readability. Sans-serifs and a clear hierarchy were used for headings and subheadings.
High-resolution, culturally inclusive images were selected to better represent the diverse student body. Images were strategically placed to support the content making the handbook more visually appealing.
To make the handbook more appealing to a younger audience, various illustrative elements were incorporated into the design. These elements added a vibrant and dynamic touch to the document, making it more engaging and visually stimulating.
